Iran’s NIOC declares volume of flares gas to be collected

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) plans to collect more than 1.6 billion cubic feet (about 45.3 million cubic meters) of flare gas daily from the Khuzestan and Ilam provinces of Iran, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Masoud Karbasian said, Trend reports referring to the Shana news agency.

He made the remark in an event dedicated to the signing of 3 contracts on collecting flare gas today on Apr. 5.

According to Karbasian, daily 500 million cubic feet (about 14.1 million cubic meters) of flare gas is to be transported to NGL 3200 plant. A unit of the plant for the collection of daily 250 million cubic feet (about 7.07 million cubic meters) of flare gas will be put into operation in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022). There is 75-percent progress in the construction of this unit.

The CEO added that moreover, daily 260 million cubic feet (about 7.46 million cubic meters) of flare gas is to be transported to the NGL 3100 plant. There is 55-percent progress in the construction of this plant.

“In addition, the Persian Gulf Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company and Marun Petrochemical Company are implementing a number of plans. Under these plans, 870 million cubic feet (about 24.6 million cubic meters) of flare gas will be collected daily,” he said.

Reportedly, three contracts worth 165 million euros on the collecting of flare gas were signed between the Persian Gulf Bid-Boland Gas Refining Company and three Iranian companies in Iran on Apr. 5.

Several projects are implemented in Iran for collecting flare gas.
