Kazakhstan's gas consumption exceeds plan in 1Q2021

Kazakhstan has produced 21.1 million tons of oil and gas condensate in Jan. through Mar. 2021, which meets the plan for the period, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

Nogayev said that 6.7 million tons of the volume were extracted at Tengiz oil and gas field (meets the plan), 3.7 million tons at Kashagan field (meets the plan), and 3.7 million tons at Karachaganak field (meets the plan).

The oil export stood at 16.6 million tons in 1Q2021, which also meets the plan for the reporting period. Nogayev noted that in accordance to the OPEC+ agreement the oil extraction volumes will be stage-by-stage increased by 6,000 barrels a day in May, June and July.

Furthermore, 13.9 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in Kazakhstan over the first three months of 2021, which also meets the plan for the reporting period. Domestic gas consumption reached 6.6 billion cubic meters, which is 11.3 percent more than the plan.

Production of liquefied petroleum gas amounted to 817,000 tons, which meets the plan for the reporting period. During the reporting period, 2.1 billion cubic meters of gas were also exported, which is 5.4 percent more than the plan.
