By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The volume of gas injected into Iran's Karanj oil field has increased to 70 million cubic feet (about 1.98 million cubic meters) daily, the Executive Director of the Iranian Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company (AOGPC), Pejman Ghazaipour said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Ghazaipour emphasized that the reason for the increase in gas injection into the field is the repair and installation of the 'Mars 90' solar turbine.

“In previous years, this turbine was installed at the Karanc 600 gas pumping station. The turbine, manufactured by Wood Group, was sent to the UAE branch of the company for repair. However, due to sanctions, the turbine was not repaired and returned,” he added.

The director said that the Mars 90 Solar turbine was repaired by joint cooperation of the specialists of the Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company and the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), and 120 billion rials (about $2.85 million) was saved by repairing the turbine domestically.

Reportedly, Iran's Aghajari Oil & Gas Production Company is a subsidiary of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC). The company has 8 oil fields, including Aghajari, Karanj, Paranj, Parsi, Ramshir, Rag Sefid, Pazanan, and Marun.

About 615,000 barrels of light and heavy crude oil is extracted daily from 8 fields. The company supplies fuel to domestic refineries and exports the remaining amount.

In addition, it supplies 30 percent of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company's liquefied natural gas needs. The company also produces 11,000 barrels of naphtha per day and send to Bouali Sina Petrochemical Company, Esfahan Oil Refining Company, Abadan Oil Refining Company as fuel and for export.

The Karanj oil field produces 127,000 barrels of oil and 2.5 million cubic meters of gas per day.
