By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

The methanol plant project in Russia’s Vysotsk is well advanced, Trend quoted director general of SOCAR Rus trading company Farid Jafarov as saying.

“SOCAR is the technical consultant of the project, which is quite well advanced. All design works are complete and talks are underway for the turnkey implementation. Hyundai is the general contractor. It will be the first methanol plant in port in Russia,” Jafarov told Russian media.

He added that the plant will get natural gas via pipelines, produce methanol and sed to the consumers.

Gaz Sintez is developing the methanol plant project at the port of Vysotsk in the Leningrad Region of Russia. Hyundai Engineering has started the development of the FEED-package, and NIIK has been awarded the Russian general designer contract. The plant is expected to be completed in 2023.
