Around 10.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been transported from Azerbaijan to Turkey via Trans-Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) since July 2018 (date of launch of the pipeline), Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

The minister made the remark at the 4th Summit on Energy and Natural Resources organized by Turkuvaz Media Group and supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.

According to Shahbazov, over 5 months of this year, 2.2 billion cubic meters of 4.1 billion cubic meters of gas supplied to Turkey fell on TANAP.

"During this period, 2.3 billion cubic meters of gas were exported to Europe through TAP. Joint energy projects turn both countries into an important energy center for the world and put their signature on the energy map of Eurasia," the minister stressed.

The volume of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Turkey via the TANAP in the first quarter of 2021 amounted to 1.4 billion cubic meters.

Azerbaijan exported a total of 5 billion cubic meters of gas in the first quarter of 2021, which is 39.5 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
