Iran's Abadan Oil Refining Company to launch new plant

The 2nd plant of Iran's Abadan Oil Refining Company will be launched next year, Managing Director of the company Alireza Amin said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Amin, there is currently an average of 80 percent physical progress in the general work for this plant.

The director added that with the launch of the plant, the production of petroleum products, including gasoline, will increase and the quality of products will also increase.

“So, there is 89.5 percent progress in the plant's engineering work, 90 percent in equipment supply and 60 percent in construction work,” he said.

Amin noted that 1.3 billion euros is needed for the construction of the plant. So far, 80 percent of the money has been attracted.

As reported, Iran currently processes 2.3 million barrels of crude oil per day. Iran's gasoline production capacity averages 113 million liters per day and produces 107 million liters of gasoline per day.
