Thermal power plants (TPPs) of Azerbaijan produced over 14.7 billion kilowatts/hours of electricity from January through July 2021, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan told Trend.
On annual basis, TPPs raised electricity generation by 395.9 million kilowatt-hours compared to the same period of 2020, the ministry said.
“At the same time, the wind power plants (WPPs) of Azerbaijan produced over 55.4 million kilowatts/hours of electricity, solar - 32.2 million kilowatts/hours, the power plant of the solid waste disposal plant – 125.2 million kilowatts/hours," the ministry noted.
The production of electricity in Azerbaijan in 2020 amounted to 25.8 billion kilowatts/hours. At the same time, the generation of TPPs amounted to 24.4 billion kilowatts/hours (an increase of 12.4 percent compared to 2019), wind power plants - 1.06 billion kilowatts/hours, solar - 46.9 million kilowatts/hours, the plant's power plant on utilization of solid household waste - 200.6 million kilowatts/hours.
