JP Morgan forecasts increase in 2021 world oil demand

World oil demand is expected to stand at 96 million barrels per day (mbd) in 2021, as compared to 90.2 mbd in 2020, Trend reports citing the JP Morgan Bank.

The Bank estimates that the world oil demand in 2021 equaled to 92.5 mbd in Q1, and 94.7 mbd in Q2, and is expected to stand at 97.6 mbd in Q3 and 99.2 mbd in Q4.

JP Morgan notes that world oil demand amounted to 90.7 mbd in January, 92.3 mbd in February, 94.4 mbd in March, 93.2 mbd in April, 93.7 mbd in May, 97.2 mbd in June, 97.5 mbd in July and 97.6 mbd in August. The demand for September is predicted at the level of 97.8 mbd, while the figures for October, November and December will stand at 98.3 mbd, 99.4 mbd and 100 mbd, respectively.

As for 2022, world oil demand is expected to reach 99.6 mbd with 98.2 mbd in Q1, 99.0 mbd in Q2, 100.6 mbd in Q3 and 100.8 in Q4.

Monthly oil demand forecasts for 2022 are as follows: 97.6 mbd in January 99.4 mbd in February, 97.6 mbd in March, 98.8 mbd in April, 98.4 mbd in May, 99.7 mbd in June, 100.9 mbd in July, 101.3 mbd in August, 99.4 mbd in September, 100.2 mbd in October, 101.2 mbd in November and 101.1 mbd in December.
