SOCAR among main suppliers of motor gasoline produced by ORLEN to Ukraine

Ukrainian subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has become one of the main suppliers of motor gasoline produced by the ORLEN concern of Poland to Ukraine in November 2021, Trend reports referring to Ukrainian media.

November shipments of gasoline by the ORLEN concern decreased by 16 percent and stood at 14,400 tons. The main suppliers were SOCAR Energy Ukraine and Amic Ukraine, with 3,600 tons and 3,400 tons, respectively. WOG and KLO delivered 2,900 tons and 220 tons, respectively.

Ukraine’s imports of motor gasoline in November 2021 amounted to 109,000 tons, which is 5 percent more than 104,000 tons in November 2020.

Belarus accounted for the major part of increase in November 2021. Belarusian refineries delivered 94,400 tons of gasoline to Ukraine, which is 10 percent more than a year earlier.

SOCAR’s representative office opened in Ukraine in 2008. The company acquired about 20 Tala-Nafta filling stations in Odessa and Nikolaev regions. as well as Svitanok large oil depot in Odessa region in 2009.

The company took control of the fuelling networks ONIO (four filling stations in Kyiv and the region) and GFC (in Lviv region) in 2010-2011. SOCAR received permission from the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine to purchase 26 filling stations and one tank farm of the Kalina group in August 2012

SOCAR's investments in Ukraine as of 2020 stood at $300 million.
