Garadagh Solar Power Plant with a design capacity of 230 MW is planned to be put into operation by the end of the first half of 2023, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan Tabriz Ammayev told reporters during a media tour to Garadagh, Trend reports.
According to him, the solar power plant will provide electricity to about 110,000 households.
"Area of the power plant located territory will be 550 hectares. Over 500,000 solar panels are planned to be installed on this territory," Ammayev said.
The investment cost of the project will be about $225 million, the director of the agency noted.
"These funds will be allocated by UAE’s Masdar," Ammaev added.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the 230 MW Garadagh Solar Power Plant, which will be built in Azerbaijan by UAE’s Masdar took place in the Gulustan Palace in Baku on March 15.
