BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. A total of 5.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 856,100 tons of condensate were produced at the Umid field as of March 1, 2022, Trend reports with reference to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

According to SOCAR, in the future it is planned to build and install another platform (Umid-2) at the Umid oilfield, as well as conduct exploration drilling at the nearby Babek structure.

For the primary processing of gas and condensate produced at the Umid-Babek block, the Dashgil-2 terminal with a capacity of 24 million cubic meters per day is being built. The produced hydrocarbons will be delivered through the terminal's subsea pipeline. The construction of the terminal, which began in September 2019, is currently ongoing, the report said.

SOCAR announced the discovery of the Umid field in 2010. According to the assessment of SOCAR specialists and the results of first drilling exploration of well, the volume of the field's reserves are more than 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of condensate. The Umid field is located 75 kilometers from Baku.
