BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. The Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), the longest section of the Southern Gas Corridor, has transported around 2 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey in the first four months of 2022, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan’s energy ministry.

In total, Azerbaijan exported 2.9 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey from January through April 2022, while Europe and Georgia imported 3.5 billion cubic meters and 1.2 billion cubic meters, respectively.

Gas exports from Azerbaijan rose from 6.5 billion cubic meters in the first four months of 2021 to 7.6 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2022, showing a 16.9 percent increase year-on-year.

Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Europe began on December 31, 2020 with the commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor comprising of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion, the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
