TEHRAN, Iran, June 20. Iran is facing the gas pressure drop at the South Pars field, which mayt trigger reduced production, said the former CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company Ali Kardar, Trend reports citing ILNA.
He pointed out that while domestic gas consumption is increasing, Iran can not develop production due to gas pressure drop.
He went on to say that reducing gas consumption and using pressure booster platforms at phase 11 of South Pars could increase production.
South Pars accounts for 80 percent of Iran's gas needs and decline in its output could create problems for consumers.
