BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 4. Iran's sweet gas transportation capacity is expected to increase to 881 million cubic meters for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Executive Director of Iranian Gas Transmission Company, Gholam Abbas Hosseini told Shana News Agency, Trend reports.
According to Hosseini, for this purpose, 5 facilities will be commissioned in the country due to the increase of gas pressure.
“On December 16, 2021, a record figure for the transportation of fresh gas was set in the country. Thus, 852 million cubic meters of gas were transported that day,” he added.
The director said that a total of 65 billion cubic meters of gas were transported in Iran during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through June 21, 2022). It means that an average of 700 million cubic meters of gas were transported daily in the country.
The main task of the Iranian Gas Transmission Company is to transport or swap natural gas, ethane, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gas condensate within the country.
The company has 10 operational zones in ten provinces of Iran. The company has more than 38,000 km of pipelines, 88 gas pressure stations, 9 gas export-import terminals, and can transport more than 280 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
