BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 25. Iran’s Ramin Thermal Power Plant in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) generated over 7.33 million megawatt-hours of electricity, during the first 11 months of current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), head of the Ramin TPP, Mohsen Hafezi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

“Of the mentioned volume, approximately 530,000 megawatt-hours were generated in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023) alone,” Hafezi said.

The official added that at present, overhauls are being carried out in 5th power unit of the station. Soon the mentioned power unit will be connected to the country's electricity network.

According to him, it is expected that the Ramin TPP will be fully ready to generate electricity in the summer with the repair of other power units in the coming months.

Iran's Ramin Thermal Power Plant is considered the largest TPP in Iran. This thermal power plant has 6 steam units each capacity of 315 megawatt-hours. The power plant can generate a total of 1,850 megawatt-hours of electricity.
