BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 7. Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) is taking steps to increase production from several oil fields, such as Sohrab, Sepehr, Jufair and others, said Abbas Ghodarzi Arjomand, an official of PEDEC, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

“Currently, the company are installing various equipment and carrying out some development works in order to maintain and increase production from oil fields under its control,” he said.

Arjomand added that the production from the Sepehr and Jufair oil fields is expected to reach 21,000 barrels per day by mid-spring (May 21, 2023), and 50,000 barrels daily by the end of the next Iranian year (March 19, 2024).

Meanwhile, the production from Cheshmeh Kosh, Dalpari and Paydar-e Sharg oil fields is expected to increase by 25,000 barrels per day in the summer season, the official noted.

According to him, the company has produced more than 830 million barrels of crude oil from its oil fields since its inception (1994). This figure is expected to be close to 1 billion barrels by the end of the next Iranian year.

Reportedly, the oil fields under Iranian Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) contain over 90 billion barrels of crude oil reserves.

Sepehr field's reserves are estimated at 5.4 billion barrels of oil, of which 450 million barrels are extractable.

Jufair oil field's reserves are estimated at 4.4 billion barrels of oil. Its potential production reaches 390 million barrels, of which 390 million barrels are extractable.
