ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 24. Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz State Concern is building a new gas purification plant at the Kelleli gas field located in the Mary region of the country, Trend reports.
According to the order of the Marygazchykarysh department, the construction of this facility is carried out by the 2nd specialized department of the Turkmenyoritenebitgazgurnama department as the general contractor.
The purpose of this project is to commercialize the gas produced from gas wells in the fields and supply it to the Karakum-Uchaji-Malai high-pressure gas pipeline.
Specialists working at the construction site of the first gas treatment plant have completed work on auxiliary office buildings.
Currently, they are building gas pipelines with diameters of 159 and 219 millimeters, plant separators and auxiliary equipment, a set of prefabricated lines, and equipment for the first connection point.
Experts' calculations show that after the commissioning of the new facility, 1.1 million cubic meters of commercial natural gas will be supplied to the foreign market daily.
Meanwhile, data from the Turkmengaz State Concern shows that the country's hydrocarbon resources are estimated at more than 71 billion tons of oil equivalent.
This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
