Azerbaijan announces January–May 2024 oil and gas production volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. Azerbaijan produced 12.032 million tons of oil (including condensate) from January through May 2024, which is 5.7 percent less than the figure for the same period in 2023, the statistics of the State Statistics Committee (SSC) said, Trend reports.

However, commercial oil accounted for 12.005 million tons (down 5.7 percent).

A total of 218,200 tons of oil are in storage as of June 1, 2024.

According to the SSC, Azerbaijan produced 20.87 bcm of gas from January through May 2024, which is 3.3 percent more than the figure for the first five months of 2023.

Out of this volume, 15.93 bcm was marketable gas (for all categories of consumers), which is 4.1 percent more than from January through May 2023.

Furthermore, the remaining volume of gas was injected into reservoirs to enhance oil recovery.

To note, Azerbaijan produced about 30 million tons of oil (with condensate) and 48 bcm of gas in 2023.
