Рђzerbaijan to take part in Congress of Trade Unions for Oil and Gas Industry Workers

Рђzerbaijan will take part in the Congress of the International Federation of Oil and Gas Industry and Construction Workers. The chairman of the Republican Committee of Trade Unions for Oil and Gas Industry Workers (RC TUOGI) is Djahangir Aliyev. The event is scheduled for 21-22 January 2006 in Moscow, Aliyev told Trend.

According to him, he will make a report on the works performed by the committee for the previous years at the Congress. The issues of collaboration between the committees will be discussed within the event framework.

The head of the Committee said, the unit holds congresses once in four years and Azerbaijan is its member since 1992.

As the international sectoral trade union organization the Confederation was founded in March 1992 at the Constituent Congress and till December 1995 was called the Association of Trade Unions for Oil and Gas sectors of Industry and Construction Workers of sovereign states. In accordance with the Charter adopted at the Constituent Congress the Association became the assignee of the USSR Central Board of the sectoral trade unions. In December 1995 the II Congress took a decision on transformation of the Association of Trade Unions for Oil and Gas sectors of Industry and Construction Workers of sovereign states into the International Confederation of Oil and Gas Industry and Construction Trade Unions. The confederations chairman is Melik Mirzoyev.

The Organizations members are structures of such countries as Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and other states.
