At present Russia injects considerable changes in the price of natural gas delivered to the CIS countries. For instance, for Belarus it is expected to comprise $200, while for Moldova - $160. Azerbaijan has not received proposals on increase of gas prices, Natik Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Ministry for Industry and Energy, told Trend. At present gas in Europe is sold at $400 per 1000 cu m.

Azerbaijan ha sits own gas reserves. There are new programs in the country. The president instructed the SOCAR on the construction of new platforms, drilling of 23 gas wells, exploration deposits in different fields. At the same time there are big reserves of associate gas in the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields.

Shahdaniz gas condensate is another gas source in Azerbaijan. Today it is dealt with intensification of the development of this field. If earlier we spoke about absence of markets, low prices in respect to oil and due to capital expenditures some projects are inefficient, now the situation has fully changed. Increase of production from Shahdaniz will increase the efficiency of the project. Besides, there is a consumption market. There is demand for gas in Azerbaijan and Georgia. We receive a umber of proposals from Italy and Greece on conduct of relevant talks, the Azerbaijani Minister for Energy and Industry underscored.
