Trend Trend S.Aliyev / State Oil Company of Azerbaijan's (SOCAR) First Vice President for Geology, Geo-physics and Development, Khoshbakh Yusifzade , said on the 6th of June that BP Azerbaijan is carrying out works to launch the third operation well on Shah Deniz field on the 6th of June.
At the end of May, after implementation of technical works, BP Azerbaijan re-launched a well on gas condensate Shah Deniz field, in which the production had been ceased in February due to gas loss. Over this period, the production on the field was realized in the second well.
Thus, it is not excluded that the gas and condensate on Shah Deniz field will be produced from a third well.
Nearly 8.6 bln cu.m of gas is intended to be produced within the Phase-1 of the development project of Shah Deniz field.
The contract on the development of offshore Shah Deniz field was signed on the 4th of June 1996.
The contributors of the contract are BP (operator) -25.5%, Statoil - 25.5%, NICO - 10%, Total - 10%, LukAgip - 10%, TPAO- 9%, SOCAR- 10%.
