There are Projects between Azerbaijan and Iran regarding Joint Exit to World Markets: President of Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend A.Ismaylova / There are projects between Azerbaijan and Iran with regards to joint exit to the world markets, which will assist in ensuring regional security, said the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, on 21 August in Baku at the press-conference as a result of talks with the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

In future Azerbaijan and also Iran may join the project of NABUCCO which envisages gas export to Europe. The capacity of the pipeline will exceed 20bln per year.

Touching upon energy operations, the State Head of Azerbaijan said that a new stage commenced to provide Nakchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan with the Iranian gas.

" Azerbaijan and Iran should support each other as neighboring countries," Aliyev said.

According to him, Azerbaijan and Iran insufficiently use the existing economic potentials although the trade turnover in 2007 increased by 60-70%. The sides intend to increase it.
