Bulgaria Finds Nabucco Project Interesting: Bulgarian Deputy PM

Kazakhstan, Astana / corr Trend K.Konirova / The Nabucco project is of special interest to Bulgaria, Ivailo Kalfin, the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister, said after a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on 4 September.

"This is a European project and it is mostly linked with the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline network to enable Caspian gas to run to Europe via the territory Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria and Turkey," he said.

Kalfin announced that he also discussed another project on gas transportation to European markets - South Stream with the Kazakh President

"South Stream is a new Russian idea, which envisages the delivery via a pipeline through the Black Sea from Novorossiysk to South and Central Europe through Bulgaria. I informed President Nazarbayev about this project which is in the initial phase," Kalfin said.
