In February, the amount of online payments in Kazakhstan reached 388.1 billion tenge, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

This is 20.5 percent more than in January and 2.4 times more than a year earlier.

Thus, the share of payments online amounted to 62.9 percent of the total volume of non-cash payments, compared to 49.4 percent a year earlier.

At the same time, the number of transactions when making online payments reached 26.8 million, which is 92.1 percent more than in January and 2.3 times more year-on-year. This accounts for 44.4 percent of all non-cash transactions made with bank cards.

It should be noted that Kazakh banks are actively involved in the development of online trading. Today, three banks – ForteBank, Halyk Bank and Kaspi Bank – offer online stores where one can buy a variety of products.

A distinctive feature of these platforms is that they offer not only the usual method of cashless payment, but also installment and credit purchase of goods.
