Georgia improves its economic results in four out of five indicators

According to the Fraser Institute's rating of Economic Freedom of the World for 2019, Georgia improved its last year’s results in four out of five indicators, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.

Georgia improved its last year’s results in “government size” (7.58 points), “protection of the legal system and property rights” (6.34 points), “freedom of international trade” (8.74 points) and “regulation” (8.15 points), the ministry said.

In addition, according to the Ministry of Economy, the country's position in the field of state consumption reached 5.42 points, 0.17 points more than last year.

Further improvements are observed in the following sectors: transfers and subsidies - 6.91 points (improvement by 0.13 points), impartial test - 4.10 points (0.08 points), protection of property rights - 6.19 points (0.06 points), police reliability - 7.02 points (0.05 points), increase in money - 7.86 points (0.66 points), adjustment of barriers to trade - 8.05 points (0.45 points), control of capital and people - 7.62 points (0.26 points), credit market regulation - 9.88 points (0.08 points), and adjustment of business - 7.92 points (0.08 points).

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development noted that the country's rating has improved due to GDP growth, the country's policy in subsidies, a favorable business environment for investors and reform of the legal system.
