The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) and the Georgian Liberty Bank signed a document according to which, $15 million will be made in the bank, Trend reports citing the bank.
This money will be used to upgrade the infrastructure of Liberty Bank, including the purchase of the latest ATMs. The project is being implemented as part of the bank’s announced strategy, which aims to make Liberty Bank the leading universal bank in Georgia.
“Cooperation with OPIC is a great achievement for Liberty Bank and is an additional incentive for our team to achieve their goals. Thanks to the deployment of new generation ATMs, our customers will be able to use digital banking services on an ongoing basis at any time throughout the country,” said Levan Lekishvili, Acting CEO of Liberty Bank.
“It is a great honor for OPIC to start cooperation with Liberty Bank. This partnership is aimed at promoting financial inclusion in Georgia. The OPIC loan aims to develop a financial infrastructure that will facilitate access to banking products and services,” said OPIC Managing Director Kenneth Angell.
