Volume of corporate securities transactions increases in Azerbaijan

The total volume of transactions in corporate securities on the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) amounted to 849.748 million manat from January to September 2019, Trend reports on Oct. 7 referring to the BSE’s data.

The volume of transactions in corporate securities reached 663.312 million manat from January to September 2018. As a result, the total volume of transactions from January to September 2019 increased by 28.1 percent.

Among the conducted transactions, 46 transactions worth 125.323 million manat were carried out in the primary market, which is twofold less than from January to September 2018. Of these transactions, 18 transactions in mortgage bonds worth 110.636 million manat (a decrease of 28.8 percent) were carried out.

Two shares worth 300,000 manat were sold in the primary market from January to September 2019, while 64 shares worth 99.4 million manat were sold in the primary market from January to September 2018.

Some 1,825 transactions worth 724.423 million manat accounted for the secondary market. The share of these transactions reached 85 percent of the total volume and 97 percent of the total number of transactions in corporate securities. Some 1,418 shares worth 1.703 million manat were sold in the secondary market, which is almost 25 times less than from January to September 2018.

REPO transactions in corporate securities reached 6.973 million manat (a decrease of almost four times). In total, 11 REPO transactions were carried out on the Baku Stock Exchange from January to September 2019. This is exactly three times less transactions than from January to September 2018.
