The State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan (TFEB) has launched issuance of new types of VISA and Mastercard cards, Trend reports via Business Turkmenistan agency.

According to the report, $200 can be withdrawn from VISA Classic Syýahat and MasterCard Standard Syýahat on a daily basis and unlimited cashless payments can be made.

The cards are issued for a period of five years, for which a premium of $100 is charged. The fees for cash withdrawn from banks and ATMs abroad amount to 3 percent. The established commission for non-cash payments in retail outlets of foreign countries is reduced to 0.5 percent.

The Central Bank of Turkmenistan previously stated that the number of issued bank cards of international payment systems VISA and MasterCard is growing in the country.

In 2017, the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan established a quota for daily use of funds on international payment cards.

The measures were taken as part of preventing the misuse of foreign currency through international plastic cards, focusing on the approved standards for daily expenses of people staying abroad.

Citizens who want to pay for the services of hotels, medical, educational institutions, as well as air and railway tickets can take advantage of the possibility of international transfers through bank accounts in banks of Turkmenistan.
