Assets of Azerbaijan’s Bank Respublika increase

Total assets of Azerbaijan’s Bank Respublika last year increased by 43.7 percent compared to 2018, Trend reports Feb. 4 with reference to the bank’s balance sheet.

The bank’s total assets increased by 430 million manat ($252.9 million), reaching 1.4 billion manat ($829.4 million), according to the report.

In the structure of assets, the biggest part, about 42.3 percent, is in cash, the volume of which doubled and amounted to 597.2 million manat ($351.3 million). Investments in securities increased even more - by 4.6 times - and amounted to about 39.9 million manat ($23.4 million).

Loans issued to customers and financial institutions accounted for slightly more than a third of all assets. Their volume increased by 41 percent, reaching 484.5 million manat ($285 million). At the same time, slightly more than 70 percent of the total loan portfolio accounted for business loans, the total amount of which increased by almost 1.5 times.

Consumer loans accounted for 77.2 million manat ($45.4 million), the volume of which increased by 40.9 percent. Real estate loans amounted to 50.1 million manat ($29.4 million, or an increase of 9.3 percent) or about 10 percent of the total loan portfolio.

Loans worth 19.5 million manat ($11.4 million) were issued to banks and financial institutions, which is 42.5 percent more than in 2018. The deduction of target reserves from the portfolio to ensure possible losses from loans amounted to slightly less than 14.8 million manat ($8.7 million), which is an increase of 28 percent compared to 2018.

Deposits in banks and other financial institutions, the volume of which decreased by 26 percent, amounted to 14.8 million manat ($8.7 million).

In the structure of long-term assets, the prices for real estate and equipment rose 41.5 percent, to 42.6 million manat ($25.1 million). Intangible assets decreased by 31.2 percent, amounting to 467.9 million manat ($275.2 million). Other assets amounted to slightly over 31.5 million manat ($18.5 million).
