Prices for some food products increase in Uzbekistan

Prices for fruit and vegetables (five percent), meat, poultry and fish (1.7 percent), butter and fats (1.3 percent), bread products (1.2 percent) and dairy products (1.1 percent) rose in Uzbekistan in March 2020, compared to same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Bread products (including cereals and legumes) are higher than other products in this group, with prices of beans (4.1 percent), peas (2.1 percent), buckwheat (1.9 percent), flour (1.5 percent), rice and sechet (1.2 percent) rising in March 2020, compared to the same period of 2019.

Since the beginning of the year, pulses (by 0.7 percent - 8.3 percent) and buckwheat (6.6 percent) have gone up in price more than other goods.

Of the main types of meat products, in March 2020 prices increased most significantly for mutton - by 3.1 percent, beef (except boneless meat) - by 1.8 percent, boneless beef - by 1.5 percent, chicken thighs and shin - by 1.5 percent, other poultry meat - by 1.4 percent, live and chilled fish - by 1.4 percent in March 2020, compared to the same period of 2019.

Eggs in March 2020 have become cheaper by 3.5 percent compared to the same period of 2019, and since the beginning of the year the price level has decreased by 2.8 percent.
