Iran's Foreign Investment Board has recently approved $1.6 billion of foreign investment, said Abolfazl Koudei, director of foreign trade office at the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technological Assistance of Iran, Trend reports citing the organization.

Khoudei stressed that this amount is provided for 45 projects.

The director added that these funds will be invested in 12 provinces of Iran.

He noted the great importance and the positive impact of foreign investment on the Iranian economy.

"Currently, studies are underway in connection with employment, exports and tax payment issues related to foreign investment, and their results will be provided to Iranian government officials," he said.

Due to US sanctions against on Iran since 2018, Iran does not disclose details of the oil sector production, foreign investment and other data related to the country's economic development.
