The minimum contract value for admission to educational institutions of Uzbekistan amounted to 46 million soums, Trend reports referring to the press service of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education.
The State Commission for Admission to Educational Institutions of Uzbekistan has approved the size of a differentiated paid contract (super contract) for the 2020/2021 academic year in 265 areas.
A super contract is paid only for the first year of study and is calculated on the principal amount of the contract with a 10 percent discount and no scholarship. This opportunity can be used by applicants who were unable to get no more than 4 points for admission, but who scored at least 56.7 points.
This opportunity can be used by applicants who have scored at least 56.7 points and those who did not get enough points for admission in the amount not exceeding 4 points.
This year, most of the super contracts are calculated at eight times the amount of the main contract. If the minimum contract value with a discount and excluding the scholarship is 5.8 million soums ($561), then with an 8-fold coefficient, the super contract will amount to 46 million soums ($4,450). For comparison, in 2018, the minimum size of a super contract amounted to 82.9 million soums ($8,000).
From 2019, universities have been allowed to independently determine the cost of a differentiated paid contract, taking into account the potential and location of the educational institution, as well as the needs of applicants in higher education. The minimum contract size will be set by the state commission for admission to universities.
Earlier, the Ministry of Higher Education determined the cost of paid-contract education in universities of Uzbekistan in the 2020/2021 academic year. The cost sizes are shown with a 10 percent discount, with and without a scholarship.
