The total volume of bank deposits of the Azerbaijani population amounted to 7.83 billion manat ($4.6 billion) as of late September 2020, decreasing by 771.1 million manat ($453.5 million) or 9 percent compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the statistical report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The share of bank deposits of the Azerbaijani districts’ population for the reporting period made up 10 percent of all bank deposits throughout the country, the CBA’s report said.
“About 46.1 percent or 3.61 billion manat ($2.12 billion) of the total volume of deposits in the country’s districts as of late September 2020 is in national currency,” noted the report.
At the same time, the total volume of deposits in Baku amounted to 7.05 billion manat ($4.15 billion), 2.95 billion manat ($1.74 billion) or 41.8 percent of which is in national currency.
In September this year, the average annual deposit rate in the country amounted to 3.17 percent, in Baku - 3.07 percent.
