Azerbaijan records growth in net financial assets

Azerbaijan's net financial assets increased by $512.8 million from January through September 2020, Trend reports with reference to the reporting data of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the Central Bank's report, the growth in net financial assets was got by increasing foreign direct investment worth $519.5 million and other investments of $11.8 million, as well as following a decrease in portfolio investments by $18.5 million.

Over the same period of 2019, Azerbaijan's portfolio of financial assets increased by $590.3 million thanks to increasing foreign direct investment by $1.66 billion, portfolio investments - by $299.1 million, and other investments - by $1.4 billion.

As reported previously in the first nine months of this year, the total deficit of the balance of payments of Azerbaijan was $1.8 billion.
