Germany's Deutsche Bank AG (DB) is observing the developments in Turkmenistan and is in contact with relevant partners to identify eligible projects, a spokesperson from Deutsche Bank told Trend.
Deutsche Bank AG understands that there are plans to strengthen Turkmen economic sectors outside the gas and chemical industry, said the bank.
"Due to Covid19 significant restrictions have been introduced globally, for example in international travel, and personal contact is much more limited," the spokesperson noted.
Although, the bank added that banking services have not been interrupted and Deutsche Bank AG’s cooperation with Turkmenistan has not changed due to the pandemic.
As earlier DB’s representative told Trend, the bank has allocated major syndicated loans for ongoing diversification of Turkmen economy.
The bank cooperates with the Turkmen government in the different spheres, said the representative.
"Deutsche Bank is a large international partner of Turkmenistan for handling import and export transactions across all sectors of the country's economy," the representative added earlier.
Earlier, Turkmenistan and Deutsche Bank AG expressed their commitment to the further development of bilateral cooperation. During a meeting held via videoconference, the parties considered issues of bilateral cooperation and noted the productive nature of the interaction established between Turkmenistan and the largest German companies. It was emphasized that currently, the cooperation has reached a new level and is successfully developing in different directions.
German companies such as Siemens, Daimler, Claas, Rohde & Schwarz, Dresser-Rand, MAN, Bosch, and others make a significant contribution towards the implementation of long-term projects in Turkmenistan.
