BAKU, Azerbaijan, Apr.1
BY Zeyni Jafarov - Trend:
The foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) amounted to $6.35 billion as of late March 2021, Trend reports citing the CBA report.
On an annual basis, the Central Bank's foreign exchange reserves fell by 0.6 percent, from $6.39 billion to $6.35 billion.
In monthly terms, the CBA’s foreign exchange reserves decreased by 0.2 percent or $11.4 million, said the report.
Earlier, CBA Chairman Elman Rustamov said that Azerbaijan's strategic foreign exchange reserves exceed $51 billion, or 100 percent of GDP.
He noted that the tightening of quarantine regimes in many countries is hampering a sustained recovery in oil demand. However, the manat is stable, and macroeconomic stability remains in Azerbaijan.
