Foreign direct investments in Azerbaijan totaled $4.5 billion in 2020, Trend reports on Apr.4 referring to the payment balance of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
As the CBA said, this indicator is 5.9 percent more than in 2019.
Besides, the share of the oil and gas sector in direct investments in the country’s economy made up 86.6 percent.
According to the CBA, the volume of net financial liabilities in the oil and gas sector last year decreased by $55.5 million due to the difference between attracted investments in the amount of $4.53 billion and repatriation of capital by $4.47 billion.
In 2020, direct foreign investments of Azerbaijani companies totaled $605.6 million, which indicates a decline of 34.9 percent compared to the previous year.
