Liabilities of Azerbaijan's Kapital Bank increase in 1Q2021

The total liabilities of Azerbaijan's Kapital Bank as of the first quarter of 2021 increased by 25.5 percent compared to the end of the first quarter of 2020, Trend reports on April 16 citing the bank's balance sheet.

In accordance with the report, total liabilities increased by 997.1 million manat ($586.5 million), reaching 4.9 billion manat ($2.9 billion).

A big share (82.8 percent) in the structure of liabilities accounted for deposits, which increased by 22.9 percent and amounted to 4.06 billion manat ($2.4 billion).

At the same time, over 74 percent accounted for the deposits of legal entities in the amount of 3.02 billion manat ($1.8 billion).

The deposits of individuals accounted for 25.7 percent - 1.04 billion manat ($611 million) while the growth compared to the same period of 2020 reached 6.7 percent.

The liabilities to the credit organizations and other financial institutions increased by 1.1 times for the year and reached 349.4 million manat ($205.5 million).

The claims of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan amounted to 2.2 million manat ($1.3 million), unchanged on an annualized basis, other liabilities - 403.5 million manat that’s $237.3 million (an increase of 62.8 percent).

In accordance with the report, the bank's share capital increased by 8.85 percent on an annualized basis, amounting to 245.8 million manat ($144.6 million).

The retained earnings are estimated at 398 million manat ($234 million), which is by 1.7 times more than in the first quarter of 2020.

The capital reserves decreased up to 33.9 million manat that’s $19.9 million (a decline of 4.2 percent).

The bank's total capital amounted to 678.5 million manat ($399.1 million), increasing by 35.6 percent in annual circulation.
