Most part (59.5 percent) of the loan portfolio of Azerbaijani banks accounted for business loans as of early May 2021, amounting to 8.7 billion manat ($5.1 billion), which is by 4.4 percent less than in early May 2020, Trend reports with reference to the financial report of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
In the reporting period, consumer loans accounted for 25.9 percent of the loan portfolio of the banks - 3.8 billion manat ($2.2 billion) while mortgage loans - 14.7 percent (2.1 billion manat $1.2 billion).
In general, the aggregate loan portfolio of the Azerbaijani banks exceeded 14.6 billion manat ($8.6 billion) as of early May, while a year earlier this figure amounted to 14.7 billion manat ($8.6 billion).
On an annualized basis, the total loan portfolio of banks decreased by 0.9 percent or 130.4 million manat ($76.7 million).
The total profit of the Azerbaijani banking sector as of early May 2021 amounted to 194.7 million manat ($114.5 million).
