Azerbaijan discloses amount of loans accounting for households

The biggest share of loans issued in Azerbaijan accounted for households from January through June 2021, amounting to 48 percent out of total lending volume, Trend reports referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan's statistical bulletin.

In accordance with the bulletin, the volume of loans in the household sector in Azerbaijan increased by 783.1 million manat ($460.6 million) or 12 percent from January through June 2021 compared to the period from January through June 2020, making up 7.3 billion manat ($4.3 billion).

Meanwhile, loans in trade and services grew by 162.9 million manat ($95.8 million, or 6.8 percent year on year) - up to 2.5 billion manat ($1.5 billion) from January through June 2021 compared to the same period of 2020. The share in the total volume of lending in this sector amounted to 16.8 percent, the bulletin said.

The loans in the field of transport and communications during the reporting period amounted to 820.9 million manat ($482.9 million), which is equal to 5.4 percent of the total amount of loans in the real sector.

Over the year, this figure decreased by 94.8 million manat ($55.8 million). There was a decrease in lending by 249.8 million manat ($146.9 million) or 21.3 percent in the field of industry and production on annual basis. Lending to this sector amounted to 922 million manat ($542 million).
