Azerbaijan discloses transactions via instant payment system of Central Bank

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 4

By Zeyni Jafarov - Trend:

Some 37,000 transactions worth 97 million manat ($57 million) were conducted through the instant payment system of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) in the first half of 2021, Trend reports on Aug. 4 with reference to the "Payment System Review" of the CBA.

According to the CBA, the work is being successfully continued to expand the functions of the system. So, there has been an opportunity for cashless payments via a QR code on its platform this year. Its advantage is that payment is made directly through the bank accounts.

It is considered more efficient to use a payment method by using a QR code to make everyday payments safely.

Thus, 19 banks, the State Treasury Agency of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance and Azerpost LLC have been integrated into the system of instant payments.
