Lending to the industry and manufacturing sector in Azerbaijan amounted to 922 million manat in the first half of 2021, which is 249.8 million manat or $146.9 million (21.3 percent) less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing statistics from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, of the total lending to industry and production, 184.4 million manat or $108.1 million (20.3 percent) fell on short-term loans. Of these, loans for 148.2 million manat ($87.1 million) were issued in national currency, while loans in foreign currency accounted for 36.2 million manat ($21.3 million).
“The remaining 725.7 million manat or $426.8 million (79.7 percent) fell on long-term loans. In the national currency, such loans were issued for 498.1 million manat ($293 million), while loans in foreign currency accounted for 227.6 million manat ($133.8 million),” the CBA said.
Transactions in foreign currency totaled 29 percent or 263.8 million manat ($155.1 million) of the total amount of loans to the industrial and manufacturing sector, in national currency - 646.3 million manat ($380.2 million), or 71 percent, the report said,
The share of this sphere in lending to the real sector amounted to 6 percent, which is 2.1 percentage points less than the same indicator in 2020.
In total, lending to the real sector of the Azerbaijani economy in the reporting period amounted to 15.2 billion manat ($8.94 billion), which is 707.4 million manat ($416.1 million) or 4.9 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
