BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2
By Zeyni Jafarov - Trend:
The monetary base in Azerbaijan increased by 2.26 billion manat ($1.3 billion) or 19 percent on annual basis in August 2021, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, the monetary base as of late August amounted to 14.1 billion manat ($8.3 billion), having dropped over the month by 41.1 billion manat ($24.1 billion), or by 0.3 percent.
The CBA's monetary policy tools have been implemented within the interest rate corridor. At the auctions organized by the Central Bank for the placement of deposits and short-term notes, an excess of demand over supply is observed.
The monetary base includes cash and free banking and required reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
