Central Bank of Iran unveils amount loans issued by Iranian banks

The Iranian banks issued loans worth about 17.3 quadrillion rials (about $410 billion) in various economic sectors in the country during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through November 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

Meanwhile, in the same period of the Iranian year, the figure stood at 6.43 quadrillion rials (about $149 billion).

"So, the banks issued 1.2 quadrillion rials (about $28.8 billion) worth of loans in the agricultural sector within the mentioned period," the statistics said.

Moreover, the banks issued loans worth 5.15 quadrillion rials (about $122 billion) in Iran's industrial and mining sectors over eight months.

According to the statistics, the banks also issued loans worth 907 trillion rials (about $21.6 billion) in Iran's housing and construction sector during the reporting period.

Furthermore, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 2.66 quadrillion rials (about $63.4 billion) in the trade sector for 8 months.

At the same time, 7.33 quadrillion rials (about $174 billion) worth of loans were issued in the services sector and 6.69 trillion rials (about $159 million) in other unmentioned areas over the first 8 months of the current Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the loans are provided for the establishment of enterprises and facilities, as working capital, repair work, development, purchase of personal assets, purchase of apartments, and so on.
