Lending to legal entities up in Kazakhstan

The value of lending allocated by Kazakhstan’s second-tier banks amounted to 18.4 trillion tenge ($42.6 billion) as of the end of December 2021, which is 3.7 percent more than in November 2021 and 26.5 percent more than during the same month last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s National Bank.

The value of lending to legal persons increased by 3.5 percent amounting to 7.7 trillion tenge ($17.8 billion), whereas lending value to physical persons was 10.7 trillion tenge ($24.7 billion) which is 3.8 percent more than in November 2021.

According to the bank, the value of tenge-denominated loan value increased by 3.8 percent and amounted to 16.5 trillion tenge ($38.2 billion), whereas the value of foreign currency-denominated loans decreased by 2.6 percent to 1.9 trillion tenge ($4.3 billion).

The value of long-term loans amounted to 16.03 trillion tenge in December 2021 ($36.9 billion) which is 3.9 percent more than in November 2021, whereas the value of short-term loans increased by 2.7 percent to 2.4 trillion tenge ($5.6 billion).

Lending to ventures of small entrepreneurship amounted to 3.7 trillion tenge in December 2021 ($8.6 billion), which is 6.2 percent more than in November 2021 and is 48.6 percent of the total value of corporate loans allocated as of December 2021.

The weighted average remuneration rate on tenge denominated loans to non-bank legal entities was 12.2 percent in December 2021 compared to 11.4 percent in December 2020, whereas to physical entities it was 17.5 percent compared to 14.9 percent in December 2020.
