Volume of loans issued in Azerbaijan’s Baku and regions increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. The volume of loans issued in the capital and regions of Azerbaijan increased by 3.2 billion manat ($1.8 billion), or 22.1 percent in April 2022 compared to April 2021 - from 14.6 billion manat ($8.5 billion) to 17.8 billion manat ($10.4), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR).

According to CBAR, loans worth 13.8 billion manat ($8.1 billion) were issued in Baku during this period, which is 3.5 times higher than in regions.

Loans issued in the capital in national currency accounted for 9.6 billion manat ($5.6 billion, 67.4 percent of total lending in Baku).

The average annual interest rate on loans in Azerbaijan amounted to 11.9 percent, and in Baku - 10.4 percent.
