BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. According to the results of May 2022, the monetary base in Azerbaijan amounted to 14.8 billion manat ($8.7 billion), which is 2.2 percent or 319 million manat ($187.6 million) more than in the previous month, Trend reports citing Central Bank of Azerbaijan Republic (CBAR).
According to CBAR, the monetary base increased by 7.4 percent, or 1.02 billion manat ($603.5 million) on an annual basis.
The monetary base in Azerbaijan amounted to 13.8 billion manat ($8.1 billion) in May 2021.
Monetary base includes cash, free bank and required reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
