BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. Volume of loans issued in Azerbaijan’s capital - Baku and regions increased by 3.4 billion manat ($2 billion) as of June 1, 2022, or 23.1 percent compared to the same period last year (from 14.6 billion manat, $8.5 billion to 18.09 billion manat, $10.6 billion), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to CBA, loans worth 14.07 billion manat ($8.2 billion) were issued in Baku during this period, which is 3.4 times higher than in the regions.
Loans in national currency in Baku accounted for 9.7 billion manat ($5.7 billion, 69.5 percent of total lending in Baku).
Average annual interest rate on loans in the country amounted to 11.94 percent, in Baku - 10.44 percent.
