BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 25. The total volume of non-cash payments via terminals from January through March 2023 amounted to 3.55 billion Turkmen manat ($1.01 billion) in Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, during the specified period, the total amount of non-cash payments through ATMs amounted to 80.02 million Turkmen manat ($22.9 million), which is 48.9 percent more than in the first two months of 2022 (53.72 million Turkmen manats or $15.37 million).
Non-cash turnover on bank cards from January through March of this year amounted to 3.88 billion Turkmen manats ($1.11 billion).
Meanwhile, the total volume of non-cash payments through terminals in Turkmenistan in 2022 amounted to 13.8 billion Turkmen manat ($3.93 billion), which is 27.6 percent more than in 2021 (10.81 billion Turkmen manat or $3.08 billion).
The country's financial sector is constantly expanding. In particular, mobile applications are being introduced to pay for various services and goods, the number of non-cash payments is increasing, and payment for goods and services is being implemented through bank terminals.
