BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. The volume of loans issued in the capital and regions of Azerbaijan grew by 3.5 billion manat ($2 billion), or 18.31 percent, as of November 30, 2023, year-on-year, amounting to 23.1 billion manat ($13.5 billion), Trend reports via the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The CBA's data showed that loans worth 17.7 billion manat ($10.4 billion) were issued in Baku during this period, which is 3.25 times higher than the total volume of loans issued in all regions of the country.
Furthermore, loans in national currency were 13.5 billion manat ($7.9 billion), accounting for 76.36 percent of the entire volume of loans in Baku, keeping in mind that Azerbaijan's average annual interest rate was 12.58 percent, with Baku at 11.09 percent.
